Tinker Lab is offered as a monthly stay and play session for ages 6 and under where parents stay and remain responsible for their children. There is a focus on interest-led free play and light-touch, optional stimulus activities.
These sessions are a great opportunity to meet and connect with other children at the start of their home educating journeys and begin to build friendships. Tinker Lab is led by Sarah who successfully created warm and welcoming regular Tinker Lab sessions during the pilot year.
In between these monthly sessions, parents and children are encouraged to use to the Tinker Lab Whatsapp group to connect, share interests and ideas and arrange meet ups e.g. at the park opposite Tinker Lab’s venue on Mondays where there’s a good chance of connecting with other home educating families using the park before and after Spark Base too (which they may be interested in moving into when ready).

Sessions are usually on the first Friday of the month during term time at Springstead Community Living Room, Cambridge, CB4 3FT
How to book
Bookings will be released monthly in advance and are bookable on a session by session basis. Please book a space for each child attending. Under 2s accompanying siblings may attend free.
