Deep Dive GCSE English: Cambridge iGCSE English (9-1) - First Language - 0990 is bookable half termly (but requires commitment for the full course) and is offered as drop off sessions. Participants are covering the entire syllabus in a fun and interactive way, with whole class, group and individual work. Consolidation work will be offered between sessions and work will be marked with formative feedback. Formative and summative feedback will be offered for practise exams. Participants will work through the syllabus, section by section, developing a clear understanding of how to write effectively for different purposes and how to analyse texts, as well as a clear understanding of how to use these skills to fulfil the exam criteria.
Who?
These sessions are led by Charlotte Andrews - experienced secondary teacher, home educator and founder of self-directed learning setting, The Square. The course is appropriate for young people ready to tackle GCSE level work and assumes that participants already have functional literacy.
When and Where?
On Mondays at the Meadows Community Centre, 299 Arbury Road, Cambridge CB4 2JL from 10.30am-12pm in Room 3. Please note there are also home education drama groups and multisports groups happening at the Meadows on Mondays (not run by Waymakers) which may also be of interest.
