A soul-nourishing deep dive for parents while children are supported to explore resources at our Waymakers’ Springstead Community Living Room venue. This will be a very relaxed and welcoming meet that will give families who already know us well and those who don’t yet, to come visit Waymakers’ main venue, meet the co-Directors Helen and Kristy and, optionally, bring your children along to share the space with us and explore our venue and resources.
Who?
If your children are coming with you (some parents may prefer to attend without their children with them though which is fine too), lovely Kim (of Big Little Yogis) will be on hand as needed to support exploration and play and they will have complete freedom to come to parents as needed. You are welcome to bring a second adult if your child would benefit from that but please book separately if they would also like to participate in the circle.
Parents meanwhile will get to meet other home educating families, experience a fun and relaxed circle led by Caitriona Martin of REAL Circles. ,we’ll be invited to share what we’d like to about our home education journeys and our experiences of and questions about how circles can be used with both adults and children to create a sense of community, support, acceptance and empowerment. Circles are a flexible and co-created key feature of our core groups’ consent-based approach and help us draw out interest-led, project-based learning in group settings at which we encourage all adults and children to consider our Waymakers’ habit phrase ‘what do I and others need?’
When and where?
17 October 2026, 1.30-4.30pm, Springstead Community Living Room
