Carly and wheel visit Waymakers

Helen Murray

Two lovely Deep Dive pottery sessions today led by Carly of Tithe Barn Ceramics - and this time she brought the wheel so potters had the chance to take turns throwing a pot!

At Waymakers, we want people to be able to pick and choose activities and sessions that genuinely interest them - facilitators at Deep Dive sessions each bring their own unique strengths and ways of running sessions and when young people are trusted to make choices about what really interests them, sessions run smoothly. It was a lovely, relaxed vibe today. I was there for the second half of this afternoon's session and it was such a lovely atmosphere; full of creativity, chats with new faces, a glorious mess of clay and tools - we all jumped when the door buzzed for someone's Mum to be let in!

Lovely Carly also kindly brought with her, donations for our 1st birthday picnic fundraiser raffle - a unique hand-made, glazed piece and a voucher for a free session with her. Carly's also out and about on the home ed circuit in other locations so do keep an eye out for those - today's potters are also booked in for glazing sessions with Carly and we'll look forward to welcoming her and them back to Springstead soon. Thank you Carly!
