A session for children to attend with their carers as 1-2-1 support. Participants will be supported to explore the sensory textures of the materials and can create their own Deep Dive mini pottery projects of their own choosing. Diagnosis not necessary - children of any age who need to attend with parent/carer welcome.

Deep Dive: GCSE English // 10.30am-12 on Mondays // Arbury // 12 Jan-9 Feb 2026
What?
GCSE English: Cambridge iGCSE English (9-1) - First Language - 0990 will be offered as drop off sessions These sessions will cover the entire syllabus in a fun and interactive way, with whole class, group and individual work. Consolidation work will be offered between sessions and work will be marked with formative feedback. Formative and summative feedback will be offered for practise exams. Participants will work through the syllabus, section by section, developing a clear understanding of how to write effectively for different purposes and how to analyse texts, as well as a clear understanding of how to use these skills to fulfil the exam criteria.
Who?
These sessions will be led by Charlotte Andrews - experienced secondary teacher, home educator and founder of self-directed learning setting, The Square. The course is appropriate for young people ready to tackle GCSE level work and assumes that participants already have functional literacy. When and Where?
On Mondays at the Meadows Community Centre, 299 Arbury Road, Cambridge CB4 2JL from 10.30am-12pm in Room 3. Please note there are also home education drama groups and multisports groups happening at the Meadows on Mondays (not run by Waymakers) which may also be of interest.
How to book
Booking is available at the start of each term in September, January or April. If a new starter, please submit the pre-joining form before making your booking. Please note if signing up to this group, a commitment for the full year is needed to keep the group sustainable but payments can be made half-termly.

A fun, drop off session to explore debating skills on engaging topics - stimulus provided but will primarily explore participants own ideas and interests with activities to draw those out. Everyone participates only in ways they feel comfortable with with an experienced and engaging facilitator. Please bring devices for research.
