Waymakers is a playful learning collective for home-educated young people in and around Cambridge.
At Waymakers, we offer and signpost a range of flexible, interest-led, and project-based opportunities to supplement home education in ways that prioritise wellbeing. Young people are encouraged to access these in ways that work best for them, be that in regular or ad hoc groups, 1-2-1 or online - allowing for capacity-building at their own pace.
We offer a range of environments and resources to suit varying needs for structure and flexibility. Through educational support and sign-posting parents, young people of all ages, volunteers and facilitators work alongside each other and everyone is supported and encouraged to model the Waymakers habit of always asking "what do I and others need?" to explore passions and interests and share responsibility for supporting young people to choose and access sessions that work for them (appreciating that not all will at all times).
